Copying Files

The following is the procedure to copy all your existing PhoenixAI charts, watch lists, templates, etc from your old computer to your new computer.

OLD COMPUTER:

Open PhoenixAI
Click the Help menu
Select Open User Files Folder

In the window that appears, click on "PhoenixAI" in the tree-menu on the left

On the right side of the window, you will see two folders:

Files & Documents
Layouts

Place these two folders on your USB stick, or burn them to a CD or whatever you are using to copy them.

They need to be placed into the same location on the new computer

Install PhoenixAI onto the new computer

When it is installed:

Start PhoenixAI
Click the Help menu
Select Open User Files Folder

In the window that appears, click on "PhoenixAI" in the tree-menu on the left

While leaving the User Files Folder window open, close the PhoenixAI program  (PhoenixAI doesn't like its files being updated while it's using them)

Copy the Files & Documents and Layouts folders from your CD, USB stick, etc, to the right-side of this window.

When it asks if you want to overwrite anything, click "Yes to all"

Note:  On Windows Vista or Windows 7 you may have to click a tick box that says "Do this for all conflicts" and then click "Copy and replace".
