Chart Templates

Chart Templates can save you time by allowing you to quickly add whole groups of indicators to a chart at once.

Chart templates are easy to create, and you can make as many as you like.

Get a chart
(If you don't know how to do this, click here

Add the indicators you want
Open Graph Explorer
Click Save
Enter a name for the template
Un-tick the box "Save Chart Frequency"
Click Save

It is important to un-tick the "Save Chart Frequency" box (see image above) if you want to be able to apply your template to any chart frequency (daily, weekly, etc).

For example, if you save a template on a weekly chart and leave ""Save Chart Frequency" ticked, then every chart you apply the template to will change to a weekly chart.  Perhaps not necessarily what you want.

On the other hand, if you want to create a template for a specific chart frequency, you should leave the "Save Chart Frequency" box ticked.  That way, you can create a new chart, put a symbol on it, and then apply the template, which will automatically add the indicators and change it to the desired frequency.

There are two ways to apply a template to a chart:

1. Open Graph Explorer, click Load, and select the template
2. Click the drop-down arrow on the Graph Explorer icon on the chart toolbar

Note that the second method only shows recently used templates, so you may have to use the first method if you haven't used that particular template for a while.
