Watch Lists - Synchronising

Sync Icon

The Sync icon is available on all watch lists and traded options watch lists.  It means that when you double click on a symbol in your watch list, that symbol will also appear in all of your other open windows.

It works exactly the same as the Link symbols function on the Sync toolbar, but instead of having to type in a stock each time, all you need to do is double click on it in a watch list.

If you don't want a particular window to syncronise with the rest of them you should use the Lock Symbol  toggle switch for that window.

Sync Play Icon

The ‘Sync Play’ function in PhoenixAI allows you to scroll through a large list of stocks without having to double click on each and everyone. If you have your watch list and a couple of charts open in a workspace, you can press the ‘Sync Play’ icon, sit back, and watch as the whole thing plays before you.

Note: In order for anything to come up, you will need to set your screen up so you can see more than one window at once; typically a watch list and a couple of charts as shown in the image below. For in for information on how to do this see the page on workspaces.

Step 1: To start the 'Sync Play' function first click anywhere within your open watch list.

Step 2: Then click the 'Sync Play' icon located in your icon bar at the top of the screen.

Step 3: To stop the ‘Play Sync’ function from continuing to sync new symbols to the other windows simply click the 'Sync Play' icon again or click the ‘Stop Sync’ icon. The ‘Stop Sync’ icon is located in the ‘Sync Toolbar’ usually found at the top of the screen.

To change the speed in which each stock is brought up while the ‘Sync Play’ function is active...

Step 1: Click ‘Tools’ -> ‘Customise’.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Options’ tab.

Step 3: Next to where it says ‘Desired Play Timeout’, increase or decrease the value (between 3 and 120) to increase or decrease the interval between each stock change.

Step 4: Click ‘OK’.

Note: If you set the timeout too low, it may not have enough time to load all the data history before it moves on to the next code. If this is happening to you, increase the timeout period to a higher amount.
